Urns
Usually, the funeral home places the ashes in a plastic bag that can be taken out of the temporary box and placed directly in the permanent urn. Many families are able to transfer the ashes from the temporary vessel into the urn of their choosing on their own. For those who do not feel comfortable handling the bag of ashes, we recommend speaking with your funeral home, as they may be able to transfer the ashes into the urn for you.
Some families even have the urn shipped directly to the funeral home, so the ashes can be placed directly in it instead of the temporary vessel. If your family is planning to make this type of arrangement, we recommend letting the funeral home know of your plans so they are aware that the urn is to be delivered to them.
The basic rule of thumb regarding the capacity of an urn is 1 cubic inch per 1 pound of body weight. For example, if your loved one weighed 200 pounds at their time of death, they would require an urn with a capacity of at least 200 cubic inches.
Caskets
Yes. Order the casket from us first and then notify your funeral professional that we will be sending it to them.
Yes, by law the funeral home has to accept the casket you have chosen. The United States Federal Trade Commission has created funeral regulations for this purpose: all funeral homes have to accept caskets from outside dealers. It is illegal for any funeral home to refuse.
We would encourage you to include the funeral director and his/her staff in your plans so that they know what to expect. Most of them are well trained professionals and will be happy to help you plan for the arrival of your special casket or urn and for its use in the funeral itself. Beware of those who are not willing to assist.
The weight of our casket ranges from approximately 175 – 237 pounds. The specific weight of the casket depends on the material used: wood, steel, etc.

All of our wood caskets are solid wood, not composite. If the description says “Hardwood,” it is poplar wood that can include walnut or oak. Mahogany caskets are made from North American and South American mahogany trees.
Monument Engravings
Many families often request to use one of the various licensed logos in our portfolio for engraving onto a cemetery monument or grave marker. We have a program that allows you to legally do it. For a service charge of $129 per use, we provide the legal authorization required for your engraver to proceed to use the logo design. From a Major League Baseball team, to The Vatican Observatory or even the rock band KISS!
